El Mundo Papel

Hola! I´m Israel, an artist and illustrator from Peru, based in the beautiful Black Forest (Germany). I grew up in Lima, a large city next to the Pacific ocean. From a young age I enjoyed drawing, painting and learning different techniques and finding new materials.

In 2003 I decided to study art at the National Fine Art School -Bellas Artes- in Lima, with the focus on printing techniques on paper and fabrics. In 2009 I founded “El Mundo Papel Art Shop”, a creative space for workshops and art exhibitions in Lima. In 2017 I moved to Germany, where my heart found a new home in the Black Forest.

My love for handmade art is also reflected in my work with screenprinting, which I use to print my illustrations on textiles. In June 2021, I opened my shop in Freudenstadt in the beautiful Black Forest.

El Mundo Papel (The Paper World) is an art shop and gallery, with the focus on detailed illustrations inspired by nature and the animal kingdom. I like to try out new things and work with watercolors, fineliners, acrylic and various bookbinding techniques.
